Fairtrade International is the international non-profit, multi stakeholder body that is responsible for the strategic direction of Fairtrade, sets Fairtrade standards and supports producers.

PRINCIPAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

With the increased need for data and analytical work on global products and themes and with the aim to better guide the implementation and communication of global product and thematic strategies and plans, the Technical Assistant is responsible for fit-for-purpose data, information and analytics coming from internal and external data sources. The position holder will also contribute to maintenance of data collection and information used in Global Products, Programs & Policy Unit (GPPP) and to data governance work within FI.

Data related tasks:
  • Assist to collect, categorize, and analyse internal data for product and thematic areas
  • Assist to collect and analyse external information on trends, opportunities and risks in global products and thematic areas
  • Develop from the available data reports and presentations for further use and dissemination via GPPP staff to various audiences. Outputs need to be understandable by the target audience and easy to interpret.
  • Contribute to data governance work within the cross-unit framework of data governance and compliance and support understanding and implementation within GPPP
Administrative tasks:
  • Contribute to meeting organization, filling system coordination, support to management and processing of invoices
  • Support in organizing and preparing travel, events and conferences
  • Support in drafting reports and presentations

SKILLS REQUIRED

Level of education:
  • Bachelor degree or finalised apprenticeship in relevant field such as in development, economics, business, computer science or statistics amongst others.
Knowledge / Job Specific Competencies:
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel and Access and another statistical / data management programs
  • Solid experience in data management and analysis
  • Experience in data protection and related procedures
  • Professional experience in international development
Professional Skill Requirements
  • Capacity to work independently
  • Collaborative and team-working approach
  • Languages: Fluency in English is essential and ability to work effectively in Spanish, French or Portuguese desired.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • This is a full-time position
  • The office language is English
  • Location is Bonn, Germany
  • Salary as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Wholesale and Foreign Trade Industries for North Rhine Westphalia and Fairtrade International Company Agreement on wages and salaries group 4
