Fairtrade International is the international non-profit, multi stakeholder body that is responsible for the strategic direction of Fairtrade, sets Fairtrade standards and supports producers.

The position holder will provide administrative, organizational, logistical, analytical, and other work-related services to assist the work of the Trademark and Licensing team.

PRINCIPAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation of trademark applications
  • Assist with maintenance of trademark registrations, particularly with trademark registration renewals and the collection of specimens to provide evidence of use of the Fairtrade trademarks in specific jurisdictions
  • Support the trademark and licensing team with special projects and other tasks as needed
  • Process invoices in a timely manner, including following up with service providers to resolve any discrepancies or errors on their invoices and clarify any questions, and maintain detailed records of all trademark-related expenses
  • Carry out information research tasks upon request
  • Assist in the preparation and compilation of documents

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

Level of Education
Must be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor's/Master’s degree program focused on Economics, Agronomy, Law, Politics, Social Science, Geography or Development. Only applicants who are enrolled in German universities can be considered for this position.

Requiered Competencies and Qualifications:
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English (proficiency in Spanish or French is an asset)
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent communication and intercultural skills
  • Good command of MS-Office
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist with a variety of tasks as needed
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skill sets as well as knowledge
  • Motivation for the cause of Fairtrade
  • Prior experience working in a brand, trademark or licensing role may be an advantage but is not necessarily required

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • This is a 12 months position
  • Weekly working hours: 20 (distributed flexible)
  • Location is at Fairtrade International offices in Bonn, Germany
  • The office language is English
  • Salary as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Wholesale and Foreign Trade Industries for North Rhine Westphalia and Fairtrade International Company Agreement on wages and salaries Group II

  • Starting date: as soon as possible
